Our Work

Working to improve Scotland's construction sector

Building a stronger, fairer and greener future

The CLF was established in March 2019 to develop and implement an action plan of improvement initiatives aligned with Government policies and the Construction Scotland Industry Strategy.

Prior to Covid-19, the CLF was at the early stages of developing a wider agenda for change across the industry.

When the pandemic hit in March 2020, the focus of the CLF's work turned to the development and implementation of a recovery plan - a plan that established a shared view across government, industry and trade unions of the short, medium and long-term responses to Covid-19, setting out the pathway to build a stronger, fairer and greener economic future for Scotland.

More recently, the CLF has overseen the development of a Construction Accord between the public sector and the construction industry.

The Accord is seeking to improve outcomes for those working in the construction sector and associated industries for the benefit of the economy, wider society and the environment.
