Our Work

There are many sources of data that can provide insight into different areas of the construction industry. We developed and published the Scottish Construction Industry Data Dashboard to provide industry with improved transparency and co-ordination of data that covers: economy, employment, earnings, training and education, and health and safety.

The Construction Pipeline Forecast Tool has been created to highlight planned construction opportunities across the public sector. This tool enhances transparency, supports business planning, investment, and collaboration, and addresses the construction industry’s call for clear visibility of future projects, fostering a sustainable and prosperous sector.

We developed a National Construction Equity and Inclusion Plan to support wider efforts to address inequality and promote greater diversity within the sector. The plan is a route map to achieving greater diversity and inclusion within the Scottish construction sector and has been developed as a means of integrating the 14 equalities-related actions within the recovery plan into a single strategy for progress.

The Fair Work Convention acts as an independent advisory body to Scottish Ministers and has established a Construction Industry Inquiry Group to look at the key challenges to delivering fair work across the sector. In 2022, the Group published its Fair Work in the Construction Sector Report setting out a series of recommendations to which Scottish Government published its response. Sitting within the Transformation Action Plan sits a Fair Work working group, who are reviewing the recommendations within the Report against those within the Construction Accord.
